Hi :)

I'm Joe, a designer, illustrator, and creative director based in Portland, Oregon. My Cuban-Irish heritage has instilled a deep love for family, faith, creativity, and service—the cornerstones of my life. As the fifth of six siblings, I deeply value connection and community, but nothing brings me greater joy than being a dad to my son, Isaac. With over 20+ years of experience in design and art direction, I've honed my skills in visual storytelling and the creative arts. Beyond my creative work, I'm a steadfast volunteer who believes wholeheartedly that—in giving, we receive.

A 2024 trip to Cuba with my son profoundly impacted me. We brought suitcases full of necessities to family members facing the extreme hardship of Cuban life. Amid their struggles, one word was voiced again and again:"¡Ojalá!"—a powerful expression of hope and resilience.

I was struck by their resilient faith that better days are ahead, and I was inspired to create art that focused on themes of hope and faith. The concept of Ojala Arts was born. My mission is to create artwork that inspires hope, optimism, spirituality, and well-being.
